Two Towers

I will be moving to California this week, so posts here will be suspended for atleast two weeks, if not more. So, here are two photos for you to contemplate during these two weeks. The first is of Qutab Minar in New Delhi, which was built by Qutubuddin Aibak starting in 1199:



The second is a modern obelisk that I saw in San Diego, decorating the entrance to a movie theater/shopping mall in June 2003:

Malls in San Diego are open air! That's how confident they are about their weather...

(I notice that the quality of the photo on the website is much worse than what I see on my computer. Maybe I need to resize & sharpen the photos manually instead of depending on the blogging software to do it.)
